Smart Text Editor

This enables simple text editing in a window, for easier reading and faster, more accurate entry, especially where you need to format text as rows, text indenting, columns, bullets, etc. Then click "copy all" and paste into MS Word, retaining the format. The window opens automatically as you select a text cell.

The example demonstrates column alignment, using real Tab and Enter keys, plus the addition of bullets, etc.
The window opens automatically when a user selects a cell that is formatted as "Text".
Text is displayed as Calibri font, size 12, for ease of reading, irrespective of cell font or screen zoom setting.
Use the tab key and enter keys to indent and break lines of text, which auto wraps across lines as you type.
Bullets can be added with a button, as can hyphens and simple line numbering
Text can be copied by dragging and selecting or you can copy all the text by clicking the Copy All button.
When pasting this text into Word, it retains the formatting you have specified. The exception being auto-wrapped lines. These will be automatically adjusted by Word.
The windows display 20 rows at a time and a vertical scroll-bar enables fast navigation. (vs. the limited text displayed in a cell, which does not have a scroll bar).
Note: As this is a "text" cell, Excel always treats the contents as plain text and the same for the window. Whilst it is possible to see bold text, underlined text and different fonts within a cell, this information is not contained within the text of the cell. This, unfortunately, means, that the degree of editing we can provide is limited to what is described above.
Setup is a single step: Set the format of relevant cells to TEXT. That should only be used for cells that contain textual content, such as notes, specification, etc.
Fast Navigation To Next Cell:
OK button – default Excel cursor movement to select next cell (to go right or to go down)
Enter key - go to next visible row
Tab key - go to next visible column
Arrow keys – go left, right, up or down to the next visible cell
Delete - deletes cell content and exits, remaining in the active cell
Escape – exits, leaving unchanged, remaining in the active cell
Smart Forms Control Menu
Overall control of the Smart Forms is through a ribbon menu, entitled CMV
About: Displays a message box containing information about the software version
Start Functions: Starts all functions – checks the licence and awakes the functions.
Stop Functions: Stops all functions – puts them to sleep.
Backup File: Creates a backup of your workbook with a time-stamped file name.
Sheets: Opens the Sheets window for fast navigation to hidden sheets.
Menus On - Off: Enables / disables automatic display of menus.
Lists On - Off: Enables / disables automatic display of Smart Lists / Dependant Lists.
Calendar On - Off: Enables / disables automatic display of cell calendars.
Smart Text On - Off: Enables / disables automatic display of text editing windows.
